Congratulations, you’ve earned your high school diploma! This is the moment you had been waiting for, dreaming about, and looking forward to with great excitement. But then, seemingly out of nowhere, the COVID-19 pandemic hit and is shaking the entire world. Life as usual is being upended. Some of you have lost loved ones. Some of your families are dealing with sudden economic strain. Some of you feel robbed of the opportunity to celebrate your achievement with family and friends. And some of you are flat-out scared because there is a lot of uncertainty in the air. “What will happen next” is the question that no one can definitely answer; even experts are perplexed.
But this is your future, and you want answers: Will you have the financial means to attend college? Will you be able to actually “go” to college? Should you consider staying close to home? Should you wait-it-out for a year? If you decide to join the workforce, will you be able to find a job? Will you be able to carry out your plans? Will you have the success you’d envisioned.
It’s very likely that you’ll have to make adjustments to your plans. It’s almost certain that you’ll have to adjust to a new way of life. But don’t worry. “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” -Proverbs 16:3
